![]() ![]() Looks to me are super sharp and pretty exotic for what it is, and they are much more unique. The mr2 does have several things going for it. They are cheap to find at all varieties of condition. You also have the full on convertible that goes down and up with one hand. I chose to pursue one over an mr2 because in my research I found the Miata to be a little more reliable, cheaper, easier to find in goodish condition and more. Miatas from what I have seen have a larger community and tend to be easier to find parts for. I never respected Miatas until I drove one and now slide it around every corner and enjoy the piss out of it. Not as much for a project car although considered how easy they are to work on as I had to get something cheap. Preferably I'd be looking for something more sporty rather a sedan type of vehicle. My budget for buying a car is under 1200. This has left me short on ideas and without ideas I don't know what to prowl craigslist for lol. I wouldn't want something super hard to find parts for. I don't really want to buy a ford focus or anything super average (which is why I was drawn to the Nissan). I can fix damn near anything but a transmission and engine. What sort of car should I be looking for? I want to build something that's fun, customizable, and will turn heads but not something ecstatically expensive. I might not be skilled enough for that sort of project anyway. I'm going to trust that advice and take a pass. I posted in another thread about a 1987 Nissan 300ZX that I was considering buying for $700 and the general consensus of the sub was to pass on it because it didn't have an engine and it wasn't worth the hassle.
